Matthew Zimmerman

Assistant Coach

Raised in Southern Maryland Coach Zimmerman has been involved with wrestling for the past 20+ years, and is currently an assistant coach at Bishop Ireton High School.

As a coach he has produced:

As an athlete, Coach Zimmerman competed for St. Mary's Ryken High School from '03- '07 and was a Maryland Independent State Placer, 2x WCAC Finalist, and 3x National Preps Qualifier. He also attended Waynesburg University (DIII), where he competed for the wrestling team from '07-'10, under Head Coach Ron Headlee. Coach Zimmerman then finished his last year of his degree at Florida Institute of Technology where he was an assistant coach for Palm Bay High School. After a brief stint in the Peace Corps and abroad, Coach Zimmerman returned stateside for grad school and was an assistant coach at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (DIII) ('14-'16), under Head Coach Steve Hall.
