As an athlete, Coach Brown started his wrestling career at Bishop Ireton High SchooL where he finished 3rd in All-Time Career Wins. as a Cardinal, he earned championship titles at the Washington Catholic Athletic Conference as well as the prestigious, yet now defunct, St. Alban's Championship. Additionally, he earned 3rd finishes at the state Championship in both his Junior and Senior seasons, Coach Brown capped his career as a 3x National Prep qualifier.

In College Coach Brown wrestled on a varsity scholarship at King University in Bristol, TN., Where he qualified for nationals his junior season.  He was also served as a 2x captain of the wrestling team.

After his collegiate career, he returned to Bishop Ireton as a varsity assistant coach from 2010-2014. Coach Brown is currently in his 3rd year as the head coach. during his tenure, he has produced 6 National Prep qualifiers. In just the past two seasons (2016 & 2017) The Bishop Ireton program has finished 4th in the state as well as top-4 in the WCAC for regular season Duals. 

in 2013, Coach Brown helped start the Franconia Wrestling Club [Alexandria, VA] and also serves as the head coach. Since his involvement with the Franconia Wrestling Club, Coach Brown has helped the club grow in numbers to 30+ wrestlers and has produced multiple regional champions.
